NEW YEAR, NEW INTENTIONS ✨

To our unique, strong, resilient Goddesses,

First off, we want to say Thank You. Thank you for being a part of the beginning stages of this magical journey we call Luna Lifted. Without you there would be no purpose. We wish you the most magical, happy, fulfilling, new year. Thank you for glowing and growing with us in 2017, cheers to another wonderful year ✨

We all know the significant role the cosmos plays in influencing our daily lives. Here’s what astrologer Jessica Lanyadoo from TheHoodwitch.com says about the current astro cycle as we welcome the 2018 new year:

“This year has been intense; 2017 has radicalized and politicized a generation. It has been a time of great personal, social, and political transformations. The eclipses in August kicked off a kind of change that we didn’t expect but absolutely need to tackle. 2018 won’t be easy, but that doesn’t mean that it will be bad either. This will be a time for action and consequences, when you will be confronted by the results of your choices – not your intentions. This will mean big things for you in your personal life but also for the people in your community, your country, and the world as a whole. We will either come together and embrace the beautiful mess of the diversity of the human condition, or we will lose the most crucial parts of our humanity. When you feel tempted to be petty, judgmental, or unkind, know this: your soul is your most precious cargo. Act in ways that reflect its integrity rather than acting from your most defensive or reactive feels.
We are all connected, the living and the dead, the plant and the animal. Separation is an illusion, though the experience of it is a big part of the human condition. There is support all around you, and it’s your job to seek it. There is as much light as there is darkness, as much love as there is emptiness. Be wherever you’re at, but know this: the ebb and flow of your experience is part of a greater Ocean than the one you can see or feel right now. Your feelings, your actions, and your choices matter.”

Art: Broken Isn't Bad

Before I get into 2018’s words for thought, there’s an important topic I’d like to shed some light on, WOMAN TO WOMAN.

Reclamation and reverence time ladies:

When we stop judging each other, when we stop competing with one another, when we stop talking shit about one another, when we start helping each other, when we come together, ONLY THEN will we be able to take back our seat at the table. ONLY THEN will be rise above societal discrimination. I know there are other forces at play that need to happen to get to this point but realize this piece of the puzzle is absolutely necessary to accomplish being treated equally to men by society.

Women putting other women down is like telling the world that you are more worried about your “competition” than your own progress. LET’S DO BETTER LADIES. There is no need to judge one another. You know why? Because you have this gift. A gift that ONLY YOU hold power to and that is your intuition. A woman’s intuition is a powerful thing. That big round bright circle in the night’s sky we worship so much…that’s a real-life reflection of your power. We pick up vibes and frequencies from one another, and those vibes are all you need to tell you whether someone is worth your time and energy. There is no reason to judge!

“It’s in our DNA and programming to find other women untrustworthy. Many of us have personal experiences of another woman competing/stealing from us/stabbing us in the back. We must tear this shit down. We must help each other first to trust ourselves, our intuition and our inner authority. To create a world where we not only feel love and pride for our bodies and who we are in them, but also a world where we feel safe fully inhabiting those bodies without fear or worry of harm coming to them when we walk down the street. We have to find ways to start trusting each other again.” -Lisa Lister

Be kind to yourself and others. If you spend valuable energy judging yourself and forcing yourself to spend time with people who demean you and make you feel bad about yourself, you’ll strip yourself of your power. The truly powerful people in the world are kind, but they’re not self-sacrificing. They see what’s beautiful and astounding, both within themselves and within others. Implementing positivity and kindness doesn’t mean becoming a pushover. You can be kind and have very clear boundaries about what is and isn’t acceptable to you. I urge you to practice this.

Beauty is in the way you hold yourself. It’s how you treat people. The way you love. It’s self-acceptance. Beauty is in your soul. Other people liking you is a bonus. You liking yourself is a real prize.

If no one else has said this to you, I am saying this to you now: there is genius in you. There is splendor. Wonder. Gifts beyond gifts. That dream you thought was too big to accomplish….it’s never too big. That dream…it’s alive. It’s here, floating around the cosmos. It’s waiting for you to take the first step. Stop settling for the mundane in your life. If a person, place, job, or mindset makes you uncomfortable it’s your own responsibility to do something about it. It’s time to let go of the past, live in the present, and look forward to the future. Before the truth can set you free you need to recognize which lie is holding you hostage.

I know these things are easier said than done, but anything worthwhile is never easily obtained. I want to help you. Help you rise to the surface. I want to help you realize you have everything you need within yourself. You’re not going to master the rest of your life in one day. Just relax.  Master the day. Then just keep doing that every day.

Here are some goddess tips to help you manifest your new year’s intentions:

START BY REFLECTING:

It's easy to look ahead and dive into a fresh New Year. But first, go through your calendar and call out the positive milestones of 2017 (looking through the photos on your phone you took within the past year can help bring up memories when doing this). Reflect on: what are you proud of and what made you happy? What were the successes and the wins, both big and small? Take some time to acknowledge what didn’t go quite so well, asking yourself:  what did you learn from it? What would you do differently next time? Once we create the space to honor the past, we open the door to move forward…toward a bright and beautiful future.

IMPLEMENT THE LAW OF ATTRACTION:

You’re always getting a perfect vibrational match to what you predominantly give your attention to. But you’ve got to make the best of it. You’ve got to vibrate slightly different from where you are if you are going to improve where you are. You can’t keep taking score of where your life is, or your relationship is, or your body is without continuing to create it as it is. To make improvement, you’ve got to reach for a different thought.

Anytime you start a sentence with “I AM” you are creating what you are and what you want to be. Abraham Hicks said this, “hold a thought for just 17 seconds and the Law of Attraction kicks in. Hold a thought for 68 seconds and things move; manifestation has begun.” Speak out loud the emotional growth you’re after! What are you targeting?

You affect your subconscious by verbal repetition. Manifest your goals! Say them aloud, make them real

Not only should you say them out loud, write it down. Don’t just keep your goals in your head. Instead, write them down in a journal. A journal meant solely for your goals and intentions. Writing your goals is the first step toward bringing them into the material world. The very act of putting words on paper takes them out of the realm of imagination. State your objectives in the form of affirmations. Your affirmations might be all-encompassing and general, such as “I now have a job that’s perfect for me,” or make them precise, such as “I have empathy for [a person, situation] I am learning to understand them.” Read through your affirmations twice daily, when you first wake up and just before going to sleep at night. Repetition imprints your goals on your subconscious and directs it to carry out your wishes.

Buddha said it first, “what you think, you become. What you feel, you attract. What you imagine, you create.” When you exercise positivity, you receive positivity. When you express judgement, or resentment, you are lowering your frequency to a level where peace and growth do not exist. Chose to be the better person, always. And make your intentions pure. What and who you are is what you’ll attract, what you’ll maintain.

Pain is inevitable, and it will always exist, but if you focus on understanding what you are feeling and why you are feeling it, you will overcome it.

MANIFEST PATIENCE:

For many of us, patience has a negative connotation. Who wants to wait for things? All the intentions we are manifesting for this new year, we want SO BAD. We often want it so badly that we ruin it before it begins. Over-thinking, fantasizing, imagining, expecting, worrying, doubting, these are all toxic to our goals, not to mention our wellbeing. Learn to let your dreams naturally evolve. We often go through life and don’t acknowledge all the progress we’re making. Think back to this time last year. Do you consider yourself the same person? Are there habits you had then that are no longer with you? This could be good or bad. Think about all the time in-between…you need to be content with small steps. That’s all life is. Small steps that you take every day so when you look back down the road it all adds up and you know you covered some distance.

Some days will be unkind. Some days you will want to give up and forget. But please, stay for those days. They are worth more than all the rest. Be easy on your soul. It needs softness. It needs time. It needs patience.

PRACTICE MINDFULNESS:

The best way to become more mindful? Start meditating. Don’t let this M word scare you….meditating isn’t necessarily sitting cross-legged on the floor with your eyes shut OM-ing. Meditation can be anything that keeps you focused in the present moment. To me, cleaning is meditative. Making jewelry is meditative. Reading is meditative. Organizing is meditative. Anything that holds your focus on a specific stimulus, concentrating only on that one thing is meditating. If you want to get into the traditional form of mediating, download the app Headspace on your phone. It has a ton of free exercises and talks you through the process in a way that focuses your mind on what you should be experiencing in a meditative state. Meditation isn’t just a new age hobby that other people do. The benefits are there for you to enjoy too. All it takes is 5-10 minutes of quiet reflection to feel a calmer connection. Seriously, swap out 5 minutes of scrolling through timelines to exercise your mind, there’s a reason people devote their life’s work to this practice.

Here’s some ideas for mindful work that can be integrated into your daily life:

Own a bowl.

Eat your daily meals from your own bowl kept clean between sittings. Let each visit with your bowl be a calming anchor; a ritual in mindful eating & respect.

Clean your space.

Clean desk, clean mind. Rinse away unimportant clutter old papers & unnecessary distraction.

Work with your rhythm.

Mindfulness means acknowledging your unique needs and when you feel at your best. Early bird, night owl or nap taker? Embrace your needs so you can work smarter, happier and kinder.

Tune out.

Your smart phone and your I-pad. The TV, radio and the newspaper, the TED talk & the blog post. Disconnect from outside influence and inspiration.

Eat right.

Eat when you are hungry. If you’ve already eaten sufficiently use the time you would have spent eating to sit, and ask what you are hungry for. The meaningful contribution in your work, a stimulating conversation, a breath of fresh air.

Be natural.

Get your Vitamin D. Go outside feel the air on your skin & the suns presence. Notice the other people and the natural world going about their day. Look up to the sky. Gain perspective as part of the wider world and the cosmos.

I’m not saying 2018 will be a stroll through the park, or that everything will work out if you live by this list. You will encounter setbacks, life circumstances, heartbreak, and struggle. And let me tell you the main point of it all: you NEED these challenges to make your intentions come to life. Peace starts with suffering. Freedom starts with confinement. Courage starts with fear. Strength starts with surrender. And every mountain, every plant, every being, starts from beneath the earth, and you too, shall rise.

Sending you all the happiness & love this new year 🌬️💓

FULFILLING OUR MISSION IN 2017

Our intention is to advocate women’s resilience through jewelry. Every purchase helps support our efforts and collaborations that focus on getting struggling women back on their feet so they can live an empowered life.

Since our launch at the end of August we’ve been able to work with causes that help fulfill our mission of empowering women. Here’s some of the organizations we’ve supported in 2017:

VDAY Organization

For Giving Tuesday we donated 50% of sales to the global activist movement that aims to end violence against women and girls.

Malala Organization

10% of our December profits went to the Malala Organization. The Malala Fund support's girls' education projects around the world, working in regions where the most girls miss out on secondary education.

The Hart House - Missions, Inc.

Located in St. Paul, Minnesota, Hart House is a transitional housing program designed for women in recovery from chemical dependency. We were able to share and hear stories from the women residents and donate jewelry and poetry books that are focused on women's empowerment.

If you know of any woman focused programs or organizations that could benefit from our work, or if you want to find out ways YOU can help in your community please send us an email at hello@lunalifted.com
