Freya is known as the personification of love, fertility, and war in Norse mythology and history. She exudes a radiant and passionate energy that can ignite your inner fire and inspire you to pursue your heart's desires with unwavering determination.

As a goddess associated with love, Freya reminds us of the power of self-love and the importance of nurturing our relationships with others. She teaches us to embrace our sexuality, to be confident in our beauty and to express our affection and admiration for those we cherish.

But Freya is not just a goddess of love and fertility - she is a fierce warrior who fearlessly fights for what she believes in. She embodies strength, courage, and resilience, and reminds us that we too have the power within us to overcome any obstacle and emerge victorious. Unlike Aphrodite or Venus, Freya does not rely solely on her beauty or feminine charm to win battles - instead she uses her quick wit, resilience and unfaltering passion. She showed up to the fight with a chariot pulled by cats, her cloak of falcon feathers for witchcraft and shamanic energy, her boar Hildisvíni by her side and her besties the Valkyries to put fear into the hearts of those who weren't worthy. And that’s exactly what they did - they had first pick of who exactly they would allow into Fólkvangr, the alternative to Valhalla.

As a goddess of the earth, Freya reminds us of the importance of nurturing ourselves and our relationships during Taurus season. Taurus is all about grounding and stability, and Freya can help us channel this energy into creating a solid foundation for ourselves. Freya wouldn’t allow anyone to cross those boundaries, no-one to come near unless they’re worthy, and neither should you.

So now you know a little about her, I'd be happy to guide you through a sensuality ritual connecting with the archetypical energy of Freya.

For this ritual, you will need two pink candles and a space where you can light them safely. You may also wish to have some rose petals, a piece of pink quartz, or other items that evoke sensuality and love.

Start by creating a sacred space for yourself, whether that's by casting a circle, lighting incense, or simply setting an intention. Then, light your pink candles and take a few deep breaths to center yourself.

As you gaze into the flickering flames of the candles, call upon the energy of Freya to guide and empower you. You can hold the Empress tarot card, or you can utilise her asteroid for your own astrological transits. You may wish to use an invocation, such as:

"Freya, goddess of love and sensuality, I call upon your energy to guide me in this ritual and this life. Help me tap into my sensual side, to embrace my desires with confidence and grace. May your fierce warrior spirit empower me to face any challenges that may come my way, and may your love and passion nurture my relationships and desires."

Next, take some time to connect with your body and senses. You may wish to dance, move your body, or simply touch yourself in a way that feels pleasurable and sensual. There is nothing shameful about enjoying the body you have. As you do this, imagine Freya's energy flowing through you, igniting your inner fire and awakening your sensuality.

As the candles burn down, release any fears or doubts that may be holding you back from fully embracing your desires. Allow yourself to bask in the warm glow of the candles and the energy of Freya, feeling confident and empowered in your sensuality.

When you feel ready, extinguish the candles and thank Freya for her guidance and support. Take a few moments to ground yourself before closing your sacred space and carrying the energy of the ritual with you throughout your day.
